Did I ever tell you about Italy? No?

Hey there!   Hope y’all are doing well!   Lots going on here… it’s been a veritable hurricane with so much stuff going on – at home, at the retreat center, at the church.  Grab a glass of something and find a comfy spot to relax, and let’s chat.  It dawned on me at some point that I never really told y’all about my trip to Italy back in June.  Shame on me!  It sure didn’t seem like what I wanted to begin with.   It seemed very tourist-y.  Really, I almost missed the whole point.  But as I’ve had time to reflect… Continue reading

Crown and Scepter

Hey there!   Hope y’all are doing well!   It was 85 degrees here this week, and then down to 30 this morning.  Go figure.  They say if you don’t like the weather in the Midwest, just wait a few hours and it will change, ha ha.  We’re still in Lent, and we still have time to take a good look at where we really are, spiritually speaking.   Grab a cuppa and find a comfy spot to reflect a bit. De-‘Stuff’ing: Help Wanted

Hey there!   This is going to be a really short post!  You can grab a cuppa if you like, find a comfy spot and relax, but I’m not going to talk long today.   I have a question, so all y’all are actually going to write this post with your comments.

I’m looking for advice.  What’s the fastest/easiest/most effective way to declutter and thin out your ‘stuff’?   Remember we talked about stuff and detachment awhile back.   I look around, now that Christmas is over, and I have waaayyyy too much stuff (not nearly all of it related to Christmas, lol)  Continue reading

Wasted Time

It seems like we live in a world that is crazy-fast paced, and there’s never enough time for it all.  I once read the statement, please don’t ask me who or where, that said this – “If I choose to spend my time in any given way, I’ve automatically chosen Continue reading

Let There Be Light!

Hello!  Glad you’re back, or if you’re new here, welcome!  Grab a glass of iced tea or cuppa something hot, and get comfy.  I want to tell you about when God turned the lights back on.

I know, I’m mixing metaphors.  But it was pretty dark in that spiritual desert for those eight years.  When God brought me out, it was pretty dramatic. Continue reading

Stirrings of Mystery

Welcome back!  Grab a comfy place to relax, a cuppa something and read on about the adventure!

When I was about three, Mom and dad transferred their membership from the Lutheran Church way in town to the new one, two blocks from our home in a brand new subdivision.  I remember us being there as a family exactly two times: once to actually join the church, and one other time at a communion service.   My brother and I were sent to Sunday School every week Continue reading
